Day 1 10.30 leave Bangkok for Vientiane by the flight TG 690 or QV 421. Meet and transfer from the airport and city tour in Vientiane to Haw Pra Kaew, Wat Sisaket, Pra That Luang, and The Arch of Triumph (Patuxai) then transfer to the Airport
Leave for Luang Prabang by afternoon Flight and transfer to the hotel

Day 2 City Tour in Luang Prabang to visit Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Visoun, Wat May and the sacred Mount Phousi

Day 3 At leisure for your own discovery of Luang Prabang

Day 4 Whole day exciting cruise upstream Mekong River by slow boat to Pak Beng
Overnight at simple guesthouse in Pak Beng

Day 5 Slow boat journey upstream Mekong River to Ban Houey Xay with some stops at ethnic minority villages. Visit Houey Xay Town before departure to Chiang Khong District (Thailand) in the afternoon. Overnight at a simple hotel in Chiang Khong.

Day 6 07.30 transfer to Chiang Rai Airport for the morning flight return to Bangkok

2.About Laos Visa :
You can get a Laos Visa on arrival only if you enter Laos through 2 places either The Vientiane "Wat Tay" Airport or The Friendship Bridge (from Nong Khai of Thailand cross the bridge to Vientiane) with USD 30 for a visa fee. Please prepare 2 recent photos and your passport (with more than 6 months of validity) and its copy

If you want to enter Laos through other immigration check points such as Chong Meck, Boten, Houey Xay, etc you need to have a Lao visa stamp before from the Laos Embassies in your country or in many countries worldwide including Bangkok. Normally it will take 2-3 working days to get visa from the Laos Embassy.
