Day 1 (L, D)
We will pick you up in the morning at your hotel and you will travel by luxury minibus drive towards Umpang Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the top wildlife reserves in the country. On the route you will pass by and stop at cool mountain views and enjoy traditional Thai food in selected “ 5 –star” local restaurants. We will stay overnight half-way in a traditional Thai style built bamboo resort near the bustling border-town of Mae Sot.
Day 2 (B, L, D)
In the morning you will visit the border market of
Mae
Sot
and thereafter drive down to remote Umpang through a scenic road with more than 1000 serpentines. Visit hill tribe villages away from the road and in Umpang a hill tribe boarding school. Overnight in a green resort surrounded by a lush tropical garden in Umphang village.
Day 3 (B, L, D) (Go on an relaxing river rafting tour in the wildlife reserve through a beautiful canyon cooled down with mist from small waterfalls dripping from the top of the steep lime stone walls. Watch the rich birdlife along the riverbanks while you gently raft by. Later rejuvenate and relax your feet in a hot spring, followed by a short, nature walk to Tee Lor Sue Waterfall , one of
South East Asia
’s largest and most spectacular.
Join Thai families in resting, picnic lunch and swimming at the waterfall.
Drive after lunch to the nearby Thung Yai East wildlife sanctuary. Follow a nature trail through an untouched, majestic ever-green forest. After dinner, Thung Yai staff will introduce you to this place where few others have gone. Overnight in park rooms or tents in the HQ camp.
Day 4 (B, L, D)
After an early morning safari in the savannah area we will go back on the winding road to
Mae
Sot
and Tak towards Sukothai ancient city and cultural world heritage site. Overnight in a eco-friendly resort near the ancient city.
Day 5 (B, L, D)
Go on a peaceful and comfortable morning biking exploring the famous ruins of the ancient city. After lunch we will drive towards
Bangkok
again, with short visits on the way to markets, rice-farming activities and birdlife on the Great Central plain. Farewell dinner in a river restaurant in Ayuthaya or
Bangkok
.
