About the trip

This serene program is one of un-discovery parts of Thailand and it has an attractive getaway from the crowded and noisy city. The great explore local living will bring you to one of the less visited fishing villages lifestyle of Thailand . The program starts with taking an old line local train journey from hidden Wong Wien Yai Station to Mahachai town, the largest fresh seafood market in Thailand from the Gulf of Thailand with some wonderful local life along the trip. To extend the journey by taking a ferry across Tha Chine River for Baan Laem Train station to Mae Klong Market, lively out door market place which known for Talad Rom Hub. Then catch up vans or Tuk Tuk or local 2-row bus to explore more village’s life and traditional culture in the Museum. Take the big opportunity of villagers open their house for visitors stay at Homestay to understand Thai families simple living in a Thai Style house by water. It is time when people have been very friendly and have a tranquility of simple life in Tha Ka village. You may feel you are into another world. Taking boat riding in a network over 300 canals and more than 100 temples. See local product of coconut palm sugar. Villagers still use waterway as a transportation and trading their products from the plantations. At the end of the day, it is a highlight of this trip having a nature touching with fireflies which are found a lot.

Day 1    Bangkok- Mahachai – Samuthsongkram By Train (L,D)

Breakfast at the hotel

Take a BTS Train or coach

 to Wong Wien Yai train station in Thonburi District

08.30 Local diesel train departs from the station to Mahachai. It is only 3rd class opened air train with free seats. The train is passing through canals, salt paddy and villages before arrive to Mahachai town in Samuthsakorn province for an hour journey.

09.30 Arrive at Mahachai town and walk to the biggest fresh seafood market, there are many kinds of seafoods i.e.Yellow Tail, Grouper, Mackerel, Tuna, King Prawn, Crabs etc. for connecting Baan Laem Train, you will take a ferry across Tha Chine River.

10.30 Local Diesel Train departs from Baan Laem station to Mae Klong, Samuthsongkram province. It is amazing market area because there are many street vendors along the track when a train pass through they must remove the shading bar and umbrellas. When you arrive the market, take a leisure walk in the fresh market with local vegetables, seasonal fruits and foods.

12.00 Have lunch by a waterfront or local restaurant.

13.00 Travel by tuk tuk to visit the Houses making Bencharong Royal Ceramic with hand painted multi colors a royal porcelains products. 

Continue to visit the Temple School where local artists teach children how to play musical instruments and puppets without any charge.  The only aim is to conserve the local culture which includes music, puppet show, and performance.  Try to learn how to play local musical instruments.

Note: Temple school: open in the school vacation periods, usually in April, a half May, and October.  In other period, you will visit to a local children school in Tha Kha Village and have a cross cultural exchange with school children such as exchange information, performance and play, etc.

Overnight at Homestay.

Day 2: Village Life Style and Floating Market – See Fireflies (B,L,D)

Early AM.  Good Morning with the special activity by Offering some foods to monks.  One of the charm unique experience of Tha Ka Village to see monks walk daily with alms bowls to a village or row a boat collecting food in front of the homestay. Then monks will give blessing to us. It is the uplifting way of day life start.

Thai style breakfast: boiled rice soup with meat or fried rice homestay cooking. Follow by walking to Tha Kha Floating Market through coconut plantations to observe an old ancient market in a past. After that observe well known making coconut palm sugar which is made from sap of coconut trees. You can climb up a coconut tree to get a sap and help villagers making coconut palm sugar.

Lunch at the host house.

PM.  Sight-seeing tour by local two-low bus at Bang Kung Camp, unseen Thailand. The famous of chapel covered by Banyan tree roots. It is an old Naval Forces Camps that is etched into Thai Myanmar history during King Taksin around 1767 AD.

Continue visit Wat Bangkaenoi, a wonderful golden teakwood carving sculptured. It is the most beautiful temple in Samuthsongkram. After that return to the homestay. Leisure.

Home cooking dinner with the host and follow by paddling boat ride after dark to see thousands fireflies flashing yellow lights on Lamphu Trees.

Overnight at Homestay.

Day 3 Home Stay – Bangkok (B,L)

Breakfast with the host family. Thai style breakfast.  Help hosts do work such as collect fresh coconut juice, etc.

PM. After lunch, transfer back by air-cond. coach to your hotel in Bangkok 

Arrive Bangkok by 16.00 hrs.
Enjoy with Good Memory of Thai Life Style
